Wastewater Laboratory Technician

The Lake County Department of Utilities is accepting applications for the position of Wastewater Laboratory Technician. Applicants must have a High School Diploma or GED. A valid Ohio Wastewater Analysis 1 certificate and six (6) months of general laboratory experience, or completion of a recognized course for laboratory techniques, or college courses in chemistry or biology is preferred. A valid Ohio Driver’s License with a safe driving record and a drug screen are required. This position prepares and maintains glassware, work areas, and equipment for analysis, performs sample handling and preservation techniques, performs routine analytical testing on municipal and industrial wastewater and sludge, and calibrates various laboratory equipment and instrumentation. Applicants should be knowledgeable in laboratory techniques, quality assurance/control, chemistry, occupational hazards and safety precautions. Excellent verbal and written communication and knowledge of mathematics, record keeping and data entry is preferred. Salary based on qualifications.
