Chief Financial Officer
Innovative Ag Services is looking for a Chief Financial Officer to join our team! The CFO will provide progressive leadership to the teams responsible for the overall accounting practices of the company, management information systems, IT systems, treasury, and corporate compliance functions. Manage key relationships in banking, property and casualty insurance, software systems, audit, and tax. A valued member of the executive team.
Areas of Accountability:
The following duties are typical for this job. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive.
- Broad responsibility across corporate and operational financial accounting functions to include accurate and timely financial statements, annual audits, tax compliance, customer accounting, internal controls, risk management, treasury functions, budgeting, forecasting, and key reporting tools.
- Oversees and provides direction to the IT Director for establishing the technology vision and strategy to include sound and reliable platforms, stable networks, security assessments, disaster recovery readiness, business application maintenance, and software development.
- Provide collaboration and financial expertise to the executive team.
- Oversee and actively manage the company’s finance program and accounts receivable administration.
- Maintain key banking relationships, negotiate the term and seasonal facilities as necessary, keep the bank informed of all significant business developments and maintain covenant compliance.
- Ownership of property and casualty insurance relationships and risk management to determine appropriate levels of risk retention, maintain detailed schedules of coverage, and appropriately communicate necessary updates.
- Primary company contact representing legal, contract, and insurance matters.
- Ensure that the company is in continuous compliance with all statutory, regulatory, banking, tax, and other internal and external requirements the company is subject to.
- Maintain audit and tax relationships, coordinate annual audits, income tax preparation, and compliance.
- Direct, coach, develop, and hold accountable a team of four direct reports and 11 indirect reports.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance. CPA preferred.
- Must have 10+ years of experience with a minimum of 5 years in a senior financial officer position with a company that has annual revenues of $100M+
- Experience in retail agriculture, commodities, hedging, grain accounting, and/or cooperatives is a plus.
- High moral and ethical standards are required.
- Must be well organized, analytical, decisive, an excellent communicator, and can work well with people.
- Advanced experience with ERP systems, MS Office Suite, and data visualization software
Physical Requirements/Environmental Adaptability:
- Requires static strength to lift, push, pull, or, on occasion carry objects with a minimum weight of 50 pounds.
- Also, flexibility to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs.
- Some tasks involve repetitive motion.
Agricultural Environment – Possible exposure to seasonal weather, outdoor conditions, and agricultural products.
