The Hospice House
Cook ensures quality food preparation and safe food handling procedures. Primarily responsible for preparing all patient meals as well as a homemade soup and dessert daily. Visits patients daily to obtain their menu choices and works closely with clinical team members as to specific requests. Responsible for the rotation of foods, determining the menu, shopping for food and supplies and keeping the kitchen area clean.
Fills in as needed and when schedule allows in cleaning public areas and restrooms, patient care rooms, and/or complete special projects as assigned while utilizing specialized equipment and chemicals. Culinary training and/or three years experience working in a healthcare food services environment. Spokane County Health Department. Food Handler's permit. Washington State Driver's License. Completion of ServSafe certification preferred.
