We are hiring a full-time Resident Engagement Specialist at our Life Adjustment Program (LAP). This position is responsible for assisting with resident engagement opportunities and activities for participants in Residential and Non-Residential programs within Hilltop’s Brain Injury Services. This position assists the Resident Engagement Supervisor in organizing, promoting, and facilitating comprehensive activities and services that promote healthy, activity-enriched lifestyles for participants utilizing these seven dimensions of wellness: social, intellectual, physical, emotional, spiritual, environmental, and vocational.

The starting wage for this position is $13.00 to $14.00 per hour, depending on qualifications.

This position will have a schedule of 38.5 hours a week, Sunday - Thursday 1:30 PM - 10 PM (Tuesday shift will be 3 PM - 10 PM).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  1. Assist participants with activities of daily living to include toileting, walking, eating/feeding, and transferring based on the individual ability. 
  2. Organizing and facilitating activities both on and off the Bacon Campus for Residential and Non-Residential program participants. 
  3. Assisting residents in preparing for recreational outings, loading and unloading residents for transportation to and from outings, interacting with clients during activities, etc.; represent Hilltop’s Brain Injury Services with professionalism during outings with residents.
  4. Provide behavior management techniques appropriate to brain injuries to diffuse anger or keep participants safe and reassured (i.e., distraction, redirection, validation).
  5. Observe and report health or behavior concerns/changes to Manager or Supervisor and nurse.
  6. Assisting staff with planning and facilitating recreational activities and fitness exercises, including preparing meals for recreational outings. Assisting clients on overnight activities. Transport residents to various planned outings.
  7. Maintaining professional boundaries with all clients enrolled in any Hilltop program or residing at any of Hilltop's facilities, all the while maintaining the dignity, confidentiality, privacy and rights of every client.
  8. Issuing medications as required and maintaining records in accordance with specified procedures.
  9. Completing required documentation promptly, accurately and legibly.
  10. Maintaining equipment and supplies and reporting damaged equipment to appropriate personnel.
  11. Perform housekeeping duties to include but not limited to vacuuming, mopping, dusting, trash removal, stocking supplies, disinfecting, cleaning bathrooms, cleaning kitchen, cleaning and tidying all areas of the facility.
  12. Actively participating as a member of the Resident Engagement Department, providing input, attending meetings, evaluating, etc. 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS 

  • Valid Colorado Driver’s License
  • Proof of current automobile insurance
  • Current Colorado Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) License (preferred) - If not currently CNA certified, must be able to obtain certification within six months of employment
  • CPR Certificate/First Aid Certificate (required)
  • Qualified Medication Administration Personnel (QMAP) Certification (required)
  • Certificate from Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) (preferred) 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Remain in a stationary position 40% of the time.
  • Assess and observe objects at all distances.
  • Medium physical effort is required by handling objects up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Exposed to outdoor environment 50% of the time.
  • Noise level is usually moderate.
  • Job tasks involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissue.

  • Tuberculosis (Tb) Skin Test
  • Influenza Vaccination
  • Any other vaccination required by licensing
  • Post Offer Employment Testing – Medium (w/out transfer)
