Del Valle Fresh, Inc._ 25 Temporary workers needed in Enoree, Roebuck and Woodruff, South Carolina from June 13, 2019 through November 30, 2019. The person seeking employment as an agricultural worker must be available for the entire period requested by the employer and have 3 months of experience in the manual harvesting of agricultural products. Applicants must be 18 years or older. The employer may conduct a criminal background check. All tools, equipment and supplies are provided at no cost to the worker.

The agricultural job includes the duties associated with sowing, growing, harvesting and packaging tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers and squash; the maintenance of the farm, the field and the sanitation and the cleaning after the harvest, as well as the duties related to the deployment and the maintenance of the irrigation in the field and the protection against the frosts. This work may require standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs. for long periods of time outdoors in all weather conditions. It also includes making important decisions based on size, color and maturity in accordance with prescribed standards.

Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Peppers and Squash: Workers are assigned a row or series of rows and are required to select and choose products according to criteria described and demonstrated by managers, such as size, color and maturity.

Maintenance: The workers will be responsible for the general maintenance of the garden. Allergies to ragweed, goldenrod, insecticide, related chemical products, etc. they can affect the ability of workers to do the job with or without reasonable accommodations. Due to possible changes in the need date, the worker must purchase travel insurance if it is available. We will reimburse the worker for transportation costs (including travel insurance) and subsistence to the employer's job site from the place of hire upon completion of 50 percent of the contract period. Payment of transportation will not be less (and is not required to be more) than the cheapest and most reasonable common carrier transport charges for the distances involved.

A copy of the employment contract or a copy of ETA 790 will be provided in lieu of an employment contract, and any modification, to the worker the day the work commences or as soon as possible. If the employee is unable or unfit to perform the duties listed after the 14 day pretrial, the employee will receive warnings, hours may be reduced to the minimum allowed in the certified petition or terminated. Workers will be paid $11.13 per hour or applicable piece rates depending on crop activity, three fourth's guarantee, 35 hours per week. Workers may be offered more than the standard hours of work in a single workday. Workers may volunteer to work additional hours when work is available. Hours of work may increase/decrease depending on crop yield and or weather and can occur at any time throughout the season. Housing, equipment and transportation provided at no cost to workers who cannot reasonably return to their permanent residence at the end of each workday. Employer may participate in the E-Verify program and workers must have valid identification for I-9 preparation when they report to begin work.
