Highway Maintenance Foreman
Grant County, an Equal Opportunity Employer, located in Elbow Lake is currently accepting applications for the position of Highway Maintenance Foreman. Required qualifications include a high school diploma, a valid Class A driver's license, and extensive experience in highway maintenance and construction, including supervisory duties, or equivalent combination of education and experience. This position is responsible for supervising, monitoring, and planning the operations and personnel of the department engaged in maintenance activities, projects and functions within the Grant County Highway Department.
The Maintenance Foreman provides assistance and support to the County Engineer in the assessment and planning of road needs and improvements; the maintenance and replacement of equipment; the coordination of project priorities and staffing needs. The duties of the job involve supervising maintenance crews, determining work priorities, planning and assigning daily work assignments, inspecting and evaluating the condition of roadways, and assisting in estimating of maintenance project fiscal requirements, materials, and equipment needs. Knowledge of procedures, concepts and practices of highway maintenance operations, equipment operation, maintenance and repair; road materials; relevant laws, rules and regulations; and safety procedures are also essential.
The Highway Maintenance Foreman is a full-time, non-union, salaried position. Anticipated starting pay is $25.85 per hour. Health insurance and pension benefits are also available.
