Emergency Services SupervisorGoochland Powhatan Community Services
Emergency Services Supervisor
Goochland Powhatan Community Services is seeking a Full Time ES Supervisor. This is a unique opportunity to lead a small, but mighty team that has a big impact in our communities. We utilize an innovative staffing pattern that virtually eliminates after hours responsibilities for the 2 ES Clinicians and Supervisor alike. After hours crisis services are provided under contract by another regional CSB, who has access to our Electronic Health Record, so they can have real-time data and provide the most personalized service to our consumers.
As the GPCS ES Supervisor, you do not have to figure out an on-call schedule, and you do not need to be the supervisor on-call for nights, weekends, and holidays. You read that right no regularly scheduled on-call for you or your staff. You do have to be available by phone, if the contractor has questions. You do also have to monitor and track the services provided under the contract, liaise with the contracted CSB, and ensure documentation of services rendered is entered in our EHR. We hope you will find this an excellent trade-off. There are some circumstances where you or your staff may work after hours, including to assist in coverage during inclement weather.
GPCS has 2 clinics located in Goochland and Powhatan counties which are open Monday-Friday 8 am-4:30 pm. Both clinics are conveniently located 15 minutes west from Route 288 exits. We're not that far! It's a lovely drive with almost no traffic, free parking at both our buildings, and excellent eateries nearby. Currently the ES Supervisor's primary office is located in the Goochland Clinic, but the Supervisor works Tuesdays and Fridays from the Powhatan office. Our volume of crisis is low compared to our neighboring CSBs. Since we began our after hours contract in October 2018, we have completed 11 weekday pre screenings. Not 11 a day, not 11 a week, not even 11 a month. But there's plenty else to keep the unit engaged and busy.
Hospital Liaison work is done by the ES Unit. Also, ES Clinicians are our 2nd line assessors for individuals presenting for Same Day Access. The supervisor steps in for assessments too, if we're blessed to have an influx of people to serve. ES Clinicians are also trained in Advance Directive Facilitation. Both the ES Clinicians and Supervisor can carry a small caseload of outpatient therapy cases, in order to keep up those clinical chops. So, as you can see, there's more variety than you might expect to find in an ES position. Also, because we are one of the smallest CSBs, there are many opportunities to engage with different levels of staff, collaborate across programs, and work with community partners.
The incumbent must be a licensed mental health professional, be a Certified Preadmission Screening Clinician and have a minimum of two years of experience working in emergency services or with persons with serious mental illness. Applications must detail the above qualifications to be considered.
GPCS uses Credible, a web-based electronic health record, which puts real-time consumer information at your fingertips from a secure portal wherever you have an internet connection.
Salary starts at $55,000 with a signing bonus and is based on experience and qualifications.
