Director of Public Works: ($111,675.20-$135,740.80 with license) ($96,158.40-$116,875.20 without license).
Directs and supervises the administrative, engineering and operations functions of the County's Department of Public Works. 5 years increasing experience in public works, engineering, construction or related field with 3 years supervisory experience and Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university with major coursework in Civil Engineering or related field. Registration in California as a Land Surveyor is preferred. Possession of a valid California Certificate of Registration as a Professional Civil Engineer. Salary dependent on experience.
Some primary responsibilities of the position include:
- Receives direction from the County Administrative Officer and/or Board of Supervisors regarding broad policy development.
- Plans, organizes and directs, the County-wide program of engineering and surveying, design, construction, maintenance of roads and other public works facilities, and coordinates engineering surveying, and inspection activities.
- Reviews and approves the design, plans, specifications, estimates, and right-of-way matters for new road and bridge construction, water and flood control projects.
