Peer Counselor (Summer JAM)
The successful candidates for this full-time, temporary summer position will perform select workforce development services for the Erie County Summer Jobs and More Program. Assists in conducting outreach to employers and students participating in the program. Provides assistance to students to help secure employment and provides assistance during student workshops. Assists in data collection, employer orientations and employer visits. Must have a flexible schedule and reliable private automobile.
Requires knowledge and skills in customer service field as normally acquired through the completion of a high school education, combined with One (1) to three (3) years of responsible work experience. Must be highly motivated with strong leadership skills and able to work in a team environment. Must be people-oriented with good human relations skills. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing & through graphic presentations. Requires knowledge of community resources & have a basic working knowledge of computer systems, including word processing, database and spreadsheet software. Must have current Act 33, 34 & FBI Clearances at the time of the interview and three (3) personal references from someone who has known you for five (5) years or greater. Must meet Immigration Law requirements. Pay range $12.16-$14.03/hour.
