ACCOUNTING

Accountant III
$5,579 - $6,782/Month

The Fresno Metropolitan Flood Control District is offering an excellent employment opportunity for an intermediate to advanced level Accountant in the Accounting Department. Qualified candidates must be confident, highly motivated and looking for future advancement. Responsibilities will incorporate professional  and technical accounting work to properly maintain the District’s accounting records. Duties may include accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger posting, fixed assets and bank reconciliations. In addition, assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly reports, budget, annual audit, and financial statements. The position will be responsible for the maintenance and reconciliation of the District’s Assessment Tax System, and the financial records for Development Agreements and Contracts. The successful candidate will be required to perform all the essential functions within the Accounting Department. Due to the District’s need for succession planning, the incumbent should be aware that they will be in training to become the District’s next Finance Manager.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

The position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with 20 semester units in Accounting and 5 years of increasingly responsible accounting systems experience. Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Word, Microsoft Access, and Excel skills are a must. Experience with Fund Accounting is preferred. A valid California Driver License is required.

ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN I - II


$23.88/hour - $33.42/hour (DOQ)

The Fresno Metropolitan Flood Control District has an opening for an Engineering Technician in the engineering sections of the District. Job duties include assisting in the development and implementation of the urban storm drainage master plan in conjunction with the review and approval of urban development proposals and/or rural area drainage, stream management, and flood control activities. The position may also require performing a variety of engineering studies, hydrology and hydraulics calculations, open channel flow modeling and other duties as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
The Engineering Technician I position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and one year of related work experience or training. The Engineering Technician II position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and three years of experience at a level commensurate with the Engineering Technician I position. Familiarity with storm drainage and flood control systems is desirable. The applicant must be capable of performing mathematical calculations required for estimating, surveying, and other engineering tasks. A valid California Driver License is required.

PARK ATTENDANT

$14.38 - $17.48 / Hour

The Fresno Metropolitan Flood Control District is accepting applications for a full-time Park Attendant to clean and maintain the District’s park recreational site program. Duties include monitoring and securing playground and park facilities, assisting patrons in finding reserved table venues for events, monitors scheduled events to ensure adherence to District park rules and regulations, and provide facilities maintenance as needed (i.e. cleaning, replacing lightbulbs, and restocking restrooms; picking up and emptying trash; clearing walkways of sand and leaves; and replacing broken sprinklers on the park grounds). Must have proper conduct and appearance while providing excellent customer service to the public. Must report any misuse or misconduct at  the park to District management as necessary. Must also be available to work on weekends and holidays and  be able to work in outdoor weather conditions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, plus one year of related work experience involving contact with the public. A valid California Driver License is required. Due to the nature of possible supervisory or disciplinary authority over a minor, as required by law, the position is subject to the California Department of Justice live-scan, pre-employment Criminal Offence Records Information background check.
