Rate of Pay/Range of Pay: $45,000.00 - 60,000.00 per year
GENERAL SUMMARY: The Math Coach will lead and coordinate a school-wide assessment team for the purpose of screening, progress monitoring, diagnostic and outcome measures. Outcome measures will include a collaborative review of student assessment data in order to make informed decisions relating directly to Response To Intervention (RTI). Interventions may include a variety of levels of student support; all of which will be monitored for progress by the Math Coach. The Match Coach will also teach a minimum of two (2) classes of math each quarter (This may be expanded or deleted as necessary).
" Support the development, implementation, and evaluation of a high quality math program that is based on scientifically based research integrated into a school-wide instructional design for scope and sequence.
" Is an active participant on the School Improvement Team and provides continuous improvement strategies and recommendations to improve the school's math program.
" Plans and conducts school-wide math team meetings to review the instructional program and identify staff needs for staff development.
" Facilitates the Response to Intervention (RTI) school-wide committee to monitor student progress and assist in determining remedies, regrouping needs and program changes needed for students who are not making adequate progress.
" Assist in the collection, interpretation, and reporting of all data.
" Administers assessments and uses assessment data to make instructional decisions.
" Determine appropriate instruction for students at identified levels of intervention.
" Adapts Mathematics material and methods to develop relevant sequential assignments that guide and challenge students.
" Selects and requisitions books, instructional aides, appropriate to the interests and maturity levels of students, maintains required inventory records.
" Assist in establishing exemplary classroom teaching practices.
" Develops and designs learning activities that will relate mathematics to the physical world.
" Encourages students to think independently and express original ideas.
" Communicates in appropriate manner with parents/guardians and school counselor on student progress.
" Employs instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting stated objectives.
" Maintains accurate daily records of student performance, attendance, and periodic grades.
" Supervise students in out-of-classroom activities as assigned.
" Participate in faculty committees and the sponsorship of student activities.
" Maintains professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the district and/or self selected professional growth activities.
" Actively advocate and demonstrate appropriate adult child interactions.
" Maintain a professional relationship with all staff and community members.
" Maintains professional standards toward creating confidential relationships with all program participants and staff.
" Participates in all education programs including local and regional in-service training, advisory committee, and community education meetings and staff meetings as directed.
" Routine classroom cleaning/maintenance to ensure a safe clean and secure learning environment for all students.
" Provides weekly lesson plans to the Building Principal that incorporates the Minnesota State Standards.
" Displays a responsive and professional manner in promptly responding to all requests, complaints, and problems.
" Recognizes that each employee is a representative of the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and is responsible for demonstrating courtesy, respect, and sensitivity to the needs of all others, including visitors and co-workers.
" Represents the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and the department in a positive and professional manner in the community.
" Required to maintain proper attendance including reporting to work on time in accordance with applicable policies.
" Maintains a clean and organized work area.
" Due to changes and modifications in the job from time to time, employees are required to be flexible and assume other responsibilities assigned by management as deemed necessary.
" Appropriate Minnesota certification or such alternatives as the board may find appropriate and acceptable is required.
