Rate of Pay/Range of Pay: $11.62 - $16.28 per hour
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
''Provides appropriate personal care to sick infants, and preschool children, including staff, Foster Grandparents and other community members as assigned by the Health Program Manager.
" Assists Health Program Managers in reports, filing, Health Tracking system, (HISFIS), component, plans, policies and procedures and resource handbooks and other related activities as assigned.
" Helps carry out health care plans; dispense medication per policy and CPR and first aid when appropriate.
" Performs tasks as assigned daily by Health program managers per policies.
" Monitors vital signs including temps, pulse, and blood pressure when appropriate.
" Supports staff in the "teacher role" as the health care assistant in offering sound best practices and following the guidance of the Head Start Performance Standards as required.
" Provides early, continuous, intensive and comprehensive services to pregnant women and very young children and their families as outlined in the Performance Standards and assigned by Health Program manager.
" Ability to maintain confidentiality of staff/children and families is required.
" Desire to serve on various committees and be an active participant.
'' Ability to relate to staff, children, and families and to serve as a liaison between Head Start and families services. Have knowledge of cultural and socio-economic factors of the community. Provides transportation when necessary and as assigned.
" Has knowledge of good nutrition practices, health and mental health habits and principals of good hygiene are required.
" Ability to conduct Home Visits as assigned by Health Program Manager.
" Ability to work well with staff and families on all levels is required.
'' Ability to demonstrate self-motivation and organizational skills are required.
" Ability to lift, stair climb, and other physical tasks as dictated by job responsibilities are required.
" Displays a responsive and professional manner in solving all requests, complaints, and problems.
'' Maintains a clean and organized work area.
" Represents the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and the department in a positive and professional manner in the community.
" Recognizes that employees have certain personal responsibilities which affects the operational efficiency of the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa.
" Required to maintain proper attendance and reports to work on time in accordance with Reservation Business Committee policy.
" Recognizes that each employee is a representative of the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and is responsible for demonstrating courtesy, respect, and sensitivity to the needs of every person including visitors and co-workers.
" Due to changes and modifications in the job from time to time, employees are required to be flexible and assume other responsibilities assigned by management as management sees the necessity. Some assignments may not be listed on this description.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
" High school diploma or G.E.D. is required.
'' Computer skills knowledge is required.
" State certified Nursing Assistant Certificate is preferred, or equivalent related health care field.
" CPR certified is required or ability to be CPR certified within 6 months after hire.
" Valid Minnesota driver's license, reliable vehicle, insurance and a good driving record are required.
" Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing is required.
" Ability to work independently and establish priorities is required.
" Attention to detail and accuracy is required.
" Ability to establish professional and harmonious working relationships on all projects and with all parties involved.
" Ability to provide prompt resolution to problems and conflicts as they may occur is required.
" Subject to pre-employment annual background checks, and annual reference checks.
" Subject to testing in accordance with the Fond du Lac Employee Drug and Alcohol Policy.
" Some travel may be required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
" Bending, stooping, and lifting are required.
