Waterproofing, Inc., 236 Mills Gap Rd., Fletcher, NC 28732, (704) 882-7016, is hiring General Laborers to performing the following duties: perform physical labor activities at construction sites; assist coating sprayers by performing duties requiring less skill; use, supply, or hold materials or tools & clean work area & equipment; may operate hand & power tools of various types such as chipping hammers, earth tampers, & a variety of other small equipment; may clean & prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, & clean debris & other waste materials; safely operate company equipment, help with light maintenance & cleaning, & perform tasks as directed by supervisor or crew leader in a safe & timely manner. This position supports all areas of business as determined by supervisor & performs home division work on interior of homes during inclement weather. While performing the duties of this job, the temporary worker is regularly required to stand, walk, & sit. The employee is often required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands & arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; & talk & hear. The employee must be able to lift and/or move heavy objects. Vision abilities pertaining to this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception & ability to adjust focus. The employee will often encounter wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment ranges from moderate to loud. Must be able to lift & carry 75 lbs for 75 yds. Position requires a High School Education or up to one-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education & experience. The employer will provide on the job training in the proper use of tools & equipment. $14/hour - $16/hour, based on experience. OT available at $21/hour to $24/hour, depends on hourly rate. 40 hours/week. 6:00 am - 3:00 pm, Monday-Friday. Job opportunity is temporary, full-time position. 6 positions available for temporary peak load work from 01/15/2020 - 10/15/2020. Work to be performed in multiple worksites throughout Henderson County. Workers will be required to travel from housing to worksites. Employer will provide transportation. Workers may be required to submit to random drug or alcohol tests at no cost to the worker. Failure to comply with the request or testing positive may result in immediate termination. All testing will occur post-hire & is not part of the interview process. Negative results may be required post-hire & before commencing work.
Single workweek will be used in computing wages due. Pay period is bi-weekly. Employer will make all deductions from worker's paycheck required by law. Reasonable costs of housing may be deducted from the compensation of the workers. The offered housing is optional to workers. Transportation (including meals and, to the extent necessary, lodging) to the place of employment will be provided, or its costs to workers reimbursed, if the worker completes half the employment period. Return transportation will be provided if the worker completes the employment period or is dismissed early by the employer. Employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies & equipment required to perform the job. For certified periods of employment lasting 120 days or more, the employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least 3/4 of the workdays in each 12-week period for a total employment period.
