Network Engineer (Administration) - Ferris State University. Network engineers are responsible for designing, configuring, installing, maintaining and supporting computer communication networks within the university setting. Their goal is to ensure the smooth operation of the networks in order to provide maximum performance and availability for their users (faculty, staff, students and vendors etc.). Network engineers work internally as part of Ferris State University’s IT support team at campus locations throughout the state.
Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent technical or professional experience related to design, installation, and maintenance of local and wide area network required. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered. Equivalency for education is two years of related work experience equals one year of education. Two years of professional work experience as a network technician or network administrator in an enterprise level network environment.
