The Edgecombe County Information Technology Department is accepting applications for a : Full-Time Network/Security Administrator and a Full-Time Technical Support Analyst I.

  • Full-Time Network/Security

Available: Immediately

Starting Salary: $48,290 (May be higher depending on qualifications)

This position will be charge of implementing and maintaining the various networking equipment and solutions for Edgecombe County. This person will implement innovative and advanced systems to the Edgecombe Counties internal and external network infrastructure. Additionally, this position will perform the on-going monitoring of the network hardware and software, planned upgrades, as well as troubleshooting security incidents, analyzing problems, and monitoring systems for performance. This position reports to the Chief Information Officer.

Minimum Technical Qualifications

Associate degree in computer science, information technology or directly related field and four years of related technology support experience. Or An equivalent combination of education and experience enough to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation.

Desired Education and Experience

Minimum of 3 years of experience as a network administrator in an enterprise environment Associate degree in Information Technology or related experience required. Applicants may substitute additional relevant experience for the required education. Networking certifications are a plus. Valid driver's license in the State of North Carolina.

  • Technical Support Analyst I.

Starting Salary: $36,034 (May be higher depending on qualifications) Performs technical support work to County computer systems for the Information Technology (IT) department. An employee in this class provides service desk support by means of phone, remote software, and onsite assistance when necessary. Work involves trouble ticket resolution providing frontline support using County help desk software. Relies on experience and judgment as well as pre-established procedure and instructions to identify, research, and resolve technical problems presented through tier I support desk tickets. Documents, tracks, and monitors the problem to ensure a timely resolution. Reports to the Chief Information Officer.

Minimum Technical Qualifications

Associate/Technical degree with course in Information Systems, Internet Technologies, Software & Web Development, or closely related field, with concentration in Systems Administration (Support Services) or equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid driver's license in the State of North Carolina. Recent college graduates must submit current transcript. Pre-employment drug testing and background checks are required.
