Software Engineers III

ECRI Institute seeks Software Engineer III in Plymouth Meeting, PA to gather and document business requirements and code new solutions based on business specifications. Job Duties: Code new solutions based on business specifications. Gather and document business requirements. Support bug fixes and implement enhancements to existing systems. Develop Unit and functional tests of code modules. Participate in team meetings and code reviews. Create and troubleshoot simple to moderate level SQL scripts. Troubleshoot and effectively diagnose and fix performance, architectural, and business validation problems in applications. Adhere to ECRI platform, standards, and best practices. Utilize Microsoft Tools and Technologies (ASP.NET, C#, SQL Server, Reporting Services, Analysis Services, Integration Services, Windows Communication Foundation, Visual Studio, and Team Foundation Server). Develop and enhance web-services and customized MS Excel add-ins and macros. Utilize object-oriented concepts and standards to implement them within Web-based, and service-oriented projects. Work within team and independently when needed. Work with Applications Development Manager to establish goals and code reviews while meeting project requirements. Mentor team members.

Requirements: Master’s Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field plus 2 years of experience in: using Microsoft Tools and Technologies (ASP.NET, C#, SQL Server, Reporting Services, Analysis Services, Integration Services, Windows Communication Foundation, Visual Studio, and Team Foundation Server); troubleshooting and effectively diagnosing and fixing performance, architectural, and business validation problems in applications; with web-services architecture and customized MS Excel add-ins and macros; and in object-oriented concepts and standards and ability to implement them within Web-based, and service-oriented projects. Employer will also accept Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field plus 4 years of experience in the above areas. Experience can be gained pre/post/during Bachelor’s degree.
