Eastern Washington University is seeking an Assistant Director of Benefits. The primary purpose of this position is to assist the Senior Director of Benefits in administering the university's insurance and retirement programs.
Responsibilities include: assisting in the development, recommendation, and implementation of policies and procedures relating to all insurance and retirement plans in compliance with appropriate regulations, laws, and University policies; ensuring federal compliance of IRS codes for participation in the voluntary investment plan in relation to the university's retirement plans; establish and initiate procedures and processes involving EWU retirement programs. This position addresses sensitive issues, such as individual/or group meetings with employees being laid off, retirement planning, medical disability, and providing one-on-one benefit orientations to new employees and key candidates and other issues that arise.
