Davenport School District is seeking a Secondary Business Education Teacher.

The Successful Candidate Shall:

 Demonstrate ability to design and implement effective, relevant, and engaging business education instruction.
 Demonstrate strong knowledge and ability to meet established competencies and content as outlined in the OSPI approved Curriculum Frameworks.
 Maintain, and/or update state and district approved Curriculum Frameworks.
 Demonstrate willingness and flexibility to teach courses as assigned within the Business Education/Technology umbrella.
 Demonstrate ability and willingness to work with both middle and high school aged students.
 Exhibit strong knowledge of and ability to implement instructional strategies utilizing common core standards.
 Exhibit strong skills in ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms with students, parents, and staff.
 Be enthusiastic, open minded and flexible in meeting the needs of students, the school, the district, and the community.
 Work collaboratively to help maintain a healthy staff and student culture focused on learning
 Demonstrate strong skills to effectively present information and respond professionally to questions from groups of administrators, staff, advisory committees, and the general public.
 Provide active leadership in establishing and maintaining credit equivalencies and articulation agreements with Tech Prep and College in the High School.
 Provides clear and intentional focus on subject matter content and curriculum
 Maintains professionalism by being a strong role model for students, by actively participating in professional development activities and demonstrates a commitment to support department and school wide goals and practices.
 Participate fully in the CTE Advisory Committee and the development of a multi-year plan and attend general CTE Advisory Committee meetings.
 Experience in running a dynamic broadcasting class, yearbook, and graphic design.
 Willingness to enhance the Gorilla Ink heat press business in conjunction with ASB & FBLA.
 Willingness to be a co-advisor or advisor of the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) club.
 Fulfill other responsibilities as assigned by the building principal/and/or superintendent.
 Familiarity with the Professional Learning Community model to enhance student achievement.
 Strong background in business, personal finance, accounting, marketing, etc.


 Valid State of Washington Teaching certificate with CTE or equivalent certification required, or ability to obtain certification.
 Must favorably pass the Washington State Patrol/FBI background check.
