Systems Administrator
Systems Administrator at the University of Utah’s Center for Higher Performance Computing in SLC: Requires a B.S. in Computer Science or related field and 24 months experience in HPC systems administration or related field. Ability to secure operating systems using firewall rules; Ability to use a centralized LDAP and SSSD for user authentication; Ability to administer NFS file systems– both clients and servers; Ability to use centralized syslog servers; Ability to use centralized monitoring software. Skill in automation of tasks using cron and bash scripts; Demonstrated skill in HPC cluster architecture and administration including HPC batch system and user accounting; Familiarity with XDMoD, SLURM and Linux (CentOS).The skills requirements can be satisfied through employment, training or an academic program. The Systems Administrator will administer systems in support of accounting; allocations of and usage monitoring of high performance computing clusters in a heterogeneous technical environment; contribute to overall function of the Center; administer Linux systems for CHPC/Research Computing at the University.
