Purchasing Manager
Purchasing Manager sought by Webasto Charging Systems, Inc. in Monrovia, CA. 40 hours/week.
Duties: Develop U.S. and global supply sources for injection mold, electronic, cables, aluminum, adhesives, and steel components (collectively called "Commodity Segments") used for automotive components. Establish and manage purchasing activities to ensure conformance with cost, quality, and delivery automotive industry standards. Oversee international and domestic supplier sourcing process of commodity segments. Oversee North American and global supplier sourcing for U.S. and Asia manufacturing programs. Evaluate material costs, labor, machine rate, tooling, and testing costs for price accuracy and competitiveness. Implement cost reduction projects prior to start of production. Approve engineering change estimates by validating time, material, tooling, and labor breakdown. Define business plan goals and objectives relative to purchasing of commodity segments. Establish and maintain department budgets. Regular reporting of purchasing activities, to include cost tracking, respect of lead times (design prototypes, FMEA, PPAP), respect of quality objectives (approval, acceptance, and reliability), and monthly/quarterly reports. Evaluate and approval of U.S. and global supplier contracts and global terms and conditions.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or Business or foreign equivalent or related field and 2 years' experience in a program purchasing position having worldwide purchasing experience with a Tier-1 automotive supplier.
Skills: Must have 2 years' experience with each of the following: Establishing target cost in acquisition phase of new projects, to include performing cost modeling and analysis on steel, electronic, cables, aluminum, adhesive, and injection mold parts (collectively "Commodity Segments"), piece-price, tooling, and testing. Supplier selection and contract negotiation for Commodity Segments. Evaluating design to cost analysis of technology used for Commodity Segments. Conducting Value Added/Value Engineering analyses of material changes and downgauging to determine impact on supplier cost.
