Accounting Specialist
General Statement of Duties: Responsible for maintaining the financial records of the company by accurately recording the day-to-day financial transactions. The creation of financial transactions includes posting information to accounting journals or accounting software from such source documents as invoices to customers, cash receipts, and supplier invoices. Also reconciles accounts to ensure their accuracy.
Job Requirements/Education:
Associates Degree in Accounting or a related field or previous professional experience working in an accounting or finance related role including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger and financial reports.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent problem-solving, time management, organization, and communication skills; a strong work ethic; attention to detail; and proficient skills in accounting software, Excel, etc.
Job Responsibilities (to include but not limited to the following):
- Payroll processing and biweekly reports, spreadsheets and monthly GL entry into accounting system
- Prepare daily deposits and reconcile all deposits from billing system to bank and GL
- Invoice tenants rent, common area charges; maintain AR, and lease management
- Maintain lease schedules
- File NYS Sales Tax returns
- Prepare bank reconciliations; provide preliminary financial and variances explanations
- Provide back-up to AP
- Assist with scanning
- Special projects as assigned
