Colorado Mountain College Glenwood Springs & Vail Valley at Edwards
The successful candidate will teach a variety of courses in CMC’s Teacher Education program. Teaching responsibilities will include courses such as Primary and Intermediate Literacy Instruction, Language Acquisition and Literacy for Diverse Learners, Research Based Practice in Instruction and Assessment, How People Learn: Human Brain and Human Learning, and Creating a Positive and Focused Learning Environment.
Candidates must be willing to teach at multiple locations. This position serves Edwards and Glenwood Springs, Colorado. Weekend, evening and online teaching may be required.
Teaching responsibilities may include 100-level to 400-level classes for associate degree programs or bachelor degree programs. CMC’s bachelor’s degree provides a pathway for dual licensure in Elementary Education and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education.
Additional responsibilities may include functions such as: cultivating school-based partnerships with clinical faculty; supervising clinical experiences and internships in partner schools; advising students; participating in program and course assessment and continuous improvement processes; participating in orientation and registration events, program promotion, and recruiting activities; Program Advisory Committee and department meetings; representing the program at job fairs, recruiting events and high school events; other duties as assigned.
Teaching responsibilities expected of all faculty include: teach course load as assigned; evaluate courses and assess student learning; meet established course, program and learning outcomes; comply with guidelines and policies; maintain office hours per established standards; and related duties. CMC Faculty are generally expected to engage in scholarly endeavors as well as service activities such as participate in campus and college committees and relevant projects; mentor peers; participate in and assist with assessment activities, program review, student organizations, recruiting and retention activities.
Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to working in a culturally diverse environment and the ability to effectively work with students, employees, vendors and community members having diverse backgrounds.
Candidates with Spanish language abilities may be given preference.
Salary range: $57,492 – $74,144 depending upon education and experience. Teaching experience in higher education preferred.
