Regional Development Officer/Campus Community - Use Coordinator

Reporting to the Director of Development (and the Steamboat Campus Dean in a shared role) the Steamboat Regional Development Officer (RDO) will identify, research, cultivate, solicit and steward individuals, businesses and grant making organizations in the assigned geographic area on behalf of the Colorado Mountain College Foundation. All fundraising coordination and tracking is at the direct supervision of the Director of Development, with the Foundation CEO providing monthly (at minimum) strategic guidance.
The incumbent will plan and attend Foundation events in conjunction with the Steamboat campus and with the assistance of the CMC Foundation staff for the purpose of the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of donors and the community. S/he will ensure sustainability of donor relationships through ongoing stewardship, cultivation and solicitation efforts via individual meetings and community events. S/he will effectively communicate the vision, mission and funding needs of the College. S/he will work in tandem with CMC and CMC Foundation leadership in identifying and securing appointments with potential educational and business partners. Additionally, s/he will assist and work with CMC Foundation Steamboat Board members (and CMC Steamboat Trustee when appropriate) as an identifier, connector and College ambassador with local prospects.
The Foundation portion of this role is estimated to assume 50-60% of the RDO’s time.
Additionally, under the direction of the Vice President of the Steamboat Campus, the Steamboat RDO is charged with serving as the Campus Community Use Coordinator (under the RDO title) with a goal of maximizing the campus’ room usage to enhance community connections and strengthen strategic partnerships utilizing the Steamboat campus.
The incumbent will actively encourage community members to utilize CMC Steamboat’s rooms for meetings, events and dining and serve as a point of contact for all bookings, facility use and rental agreements and other special needs. S/he will set up and maintain room usage database to strategically block off time for student activities, conferences, student recruitment activities and special events (Neas Family Dining Room limited to one event per semester and one per summer month) and communicate regularly with campus leadership and key internal departments regarding room usage and special needs. S/he will intersect with all appropriate internal departments for scheduling, preparation and execution of community use activity on campus.
The Campus Community-Use Coordinator role is estimated to assume 40-50% of the RDO’s time.
