Under the supervision of the Physical Plant Manager, or Maintenance Manager (where applicable), the Maintenance Mechanic/Groundskeeper is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of campus buildings, utilities, vehicles, equipment, and/or grounds, in addition to performing custodial duties.

Pre-requisites for Position (Qualifications Standards)

Education and experience sufficient for the rigors of the position, such as an Associate’s Degree and two years related experience, or High School Degree/GED and three years related experience.

Knowledge of general grounds maintenance practices; basic repair and maintenance of hand tools, maintenance and motorized equipment; and standard cleaning operations; standard Microsoft Office software.

Ability to read, write, follow oral and written instructions; work independently and/or as a team member; use hand tools and perform repetitive tasks; operate a variety of power tools and equipment, including carpenter’s, electrician’s, plumber’s and painter’s tools; obtain and maintain a valid Colorado driver’s license; serve on-call duty; and basic computer skills.

Bilingual (English/Spanish) or conversational Spanish language abilities preferred.
