Foundation Database Coordinator

Under the supervision of Colorado Mountain College (CMC) Foundation’s Director of Development and working in close partnership with the Foundation CEO, Scholarship Coordinator and CMC’s Grants Manager, this savvy, collaborative and detail-oriented team member has a strong understanding and usage of relational databases and brings a strategic lens to enhance the use of technology within a fundraising operation.  Database management would include a CRM (currently DonorPerfect used to track donors, alumni and community members), a scholarship system (Blackbaud Award Management, formerly AcademicWorks) and a grants management database (Amplifund).  Responsible for gift processing and entry, gift acknowledgements, data integrity, reporting and analysis, the Foundation Database Specialist is a heavily relied upon member of the Foundation’s fundraising success.  This role works in close partnership with the Foundation Accountant to reconcile database transactions with account balances, the Scholarship Coordinator for donor reports.

Pre-Requisites for the Position (Qualifications Standards)

Education and experience sufficient for the rigors of the position include an Associate degree in Business Management, Accounting, Computer Science or a related field and five years database management experience; a Bachelor’s degree along with three years of related experience in a non-profit, educational organization, financial aid or business, and demonstrated experience in database management; or equivalent education and experience. Experience with CRM systems like DonorPerfect, Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce, Blackbaud Award Management. Salesforce Administration certification is highly desired.

Special Skills or abilities related to position: non-profit management, budget management, project management, community engagement, financial aid, process improvement, technology based solutions and the ability to collaborate with various departments within the College.

Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and database administration is required. Proficiency in an integrated management software such as Colleague preferred.

Bilingual (English/Spanish) or conversational language abilities are preferred.
