Permanent full-time Clerk Cashier position
$35,814 annually (40 Hours per week)
includes benefit package. Successful completion of Civil Service Examination is required and applicant must meet all requirements set forth in the Employees Civil Service Ordinance. Pre-employment background investigation and substance abuse testing is required.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
The clerk position receipts, journalizes and posts various types of payments using multiple township BS&A.NET system modules. Clerks balance cash drawers and create deposits and process electronic payment files, US mail and drop box payments. They also assist in the production of Township checks to its vendors. They maintain customer tax records and make account adjustments in accordance with the Township Board of Review or Michigan Tax Tribunal rulings. They create and utilize a wide variety of computerized files, records, and related information for the purpose of documenting activities, ensuring up-to-date reference trail and providing material resource information. The Treasury clerk services Township customers over the counter and the phone, and answers inquiries from other departments, the public, vendors and other government entities. They also perform other clerical tasks and related work as required.
