Salary Range: $60,430.24 - $81,758.56 per year
Reports to the Finance Director and is secondarily responsible for the accounting system as a whole. Performs routine accounting duties and is responsible for checking monthly reports. Develops technical reports, statements and analysis. Updates and maintains fixed asset listings. Prepares source data for computer entry operations and maintains the master chart of accounts. Prepares budget worksheets and assists in the annual budget and levy development. Compiles reports for the annual audit and develops the annual report. Stays current of new developments in accounting procedures. Prepares monthly bank reconciliation. Files reports with the State Auditor and other organizations and publishes to the local newspaper. Handles tax settlement and state-aid payments.
Bachelor's degree in accounting, public or business administration, finance or similar field with minimum of three years experience in finance operations. Desirable qualifications would be five years experience in finance operations, advanced training in a comprehensive field of study such as public or business administration, finance, governmental accounting, economics, computer science or similar fields acquired by completing four years of college leading to a Bachelor's Degree.
