Under general supervision, patrols an assigned campus; attends meetings with school groups; participates in and conducts public awareness/education programs at school. Acts as a resource for students, parents, teachers, and administration regarding law enforcement issues. Provides a link to other service agencies that provide preventative and counseling services. Works with school officials to resolve problems affecting school age children. Assist in the implementation of tobacco related school policies and participate in tobacco possession enforcement details, tobacco youth decoy operations and participate in tobacco possession enforcement functions. Performs a wide variety of patrol and related duties involving the prevention of crime, the protection of life and property, and the enforcement of Federal, State, and local laws and ordinances; makes investigations, assists in the preparation of cases, and testifies in court; provides information and assistance to the public; performs related work as assigned. All applicants must complete a standard City of Sonora "Application for Employment" form. A copy of a California P.O.S.T. Basic Certificate must be submitted with application.
