Painesville Police Lateral Entry Process
The City of Painesville Civil Service Commission is accepting applications for lateral entry police officers. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age and under 40 years of age at time of appointment. A current and valid Ohio Police Officer Training Academy (OPOTA) Certificate is required. Applicants must also currently be employed as a full-time State of Ohio certified peace officer or on layoff from their prior police employer no more than 12 months from the time of application. A minimum of three (3) years of consecutive full-time law enforcement experience is required.
