The City of Mt. Pleasant is seeking a dedicated professional with exceptional customer service skills, proven leadership abilities, and experience in utility and tax billing. The ideal candidate will leverage their strong understanding of municipal accounting practices and collaborative leadership style to support the Utility Billing team and serve as a member of the City’s Finance leadership team. The hiring wage for this full-time position is in the mid $60,000’s annually, DOQ.
The successful candidate will be organized, able to manage multiple priorities, interpret financial data, and share complex ideas with ease. Establishing and maintaining positive/effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and funding agencies is an expectation. This is a frontline service department working closely with a large variety of internal and external customers on a daily basis. We believe in the art of customer service and are looking for an individual who will uphold our longstanding high standards related to each interaction with our customers and internal teams alike.
An Associate’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, or a related field is required, along with a minimum of three years of supervisory experience. Strong communication skills, proficiency in widely accepted accounting software, and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential. The successful candidate must be committed to professional growth and possess or be able to obtain both Michigan Municipal Treasurer Association (MiCPT) and Association of Public Treasurers (CPFIM) certifications within a designated timeline.
