Code Enforcement Officer • Full-Time
The City of Mentor is seeking a full-time (40 hours per week) Code Enforcement Officer. Duties include inspecting and enforcing nuisance and property maintenance codes and ensuring that residential rental properties meet minimum housing standards. Experience with residential building inspections is desired. Selected candidate will be required to complete the ICC/AACE Property Maintenance & Housing Inspector Certification within 12 months of hire. Work involves significant contact with the public and requires excellent customer service and communication skills in receiving and resolving complaints to ensure that properties are kept to the standards set forth in the Mentor Code of Ordinances. Knowledge of Microsoft Office is also required. Must possess valid Ohio driver’s license, high school graduate or GED.
Hourly rate: $20.28 - $31.67 (DOQ). Application deadline is January 27, 2023.
