Events and Programs Assistant (Part-Time)
City of Hagerstown 29 hours/week - $13.00 per hour Position works directly for Community and Economic Development Department to assist with City Farmers’ Market, the Engine Room Art Gallery, the NOPO Artist Lofts, special events and festivals. Work schedule includes weekends, evenings and some holidays.
This position reports to the Community Events Coordinator. Examples of duties include organizing special events, recruiting and retaining vendors, maintaining billing and invoicing. Providing customer service to visitors and patrons, scheduling and managing volunteer hours, coordinating marketing, advertising and public relations. This position works all major events and work schedule during an event will likely include weekends, evenings and some holidays. Develops reports and is responsible for documentation of programs. Develops program budgets, works within those budgets, and assists with program fundraising.
Qualifications: Associate’s Degree in marketing, retailing, sales, or related field preferred. A minimum of two to four years of relevant experience with some supervisory background. A valid vehicle operator’s license and satisfactory driving record in accordance with City’s Policy.
