The City of Columbus, Nebraska, is accepting applications for several positions.
Civil Service testing will take place on Thursday, February 10, 2022, at 9:00 a.m. Applicants must be at least 19 years of age, possess a high school diploma or equivalent. College level course work in fire science, fire admin or related field is desirable. Any combination of education, training and experience which produces the knowledge, skills and abilities required for the job and related to the essential functions of the position. Required to pass security background check, physical exam and required immunizations.
Responsible for responding to fire alarms, medical emergencies, hazardous materials, technical rescue and other calls to protect life and property; to participate in fire prevention and training, and to maintain the fire station and firefighting equipment.
This is a Civil Service position and requires the following tests:

Base rate is approximately $43,820 - $61,596 with an additional $576/month Paramedic comp and opportunity for overtime.
