The City of Canon City is accepting applications for the position of Utility Maintenance Worker (Meter).
The Utility Maintenance Worker (Meter) follows assigned route, reads water meters located in various locations. Locate underground water utilities and assist with duties related to constructing and repairing water lines, tapping water lines, installing water meters and setting water hydrants tasks. Also performing maintenance, repair, and construction related duties of public facilities and equipment.
High School diploma or equivalent and one year experience in construction, general labor, agriculture, or related field, or any equivalent combination. Applicants must possess a Colorado Commercial Driver's License Class B with Tanker and Air Brake Endorsement, and Class I Distribution System Certification, or achieve both within 6 months of hire. Pre-employment drug screening, driving test and background check are part of our screening process. The pay range starts at $14.57 per hour plus participation in City benefits according to policy.
