Chartiers-Houston School District is accepting applications for the following position:

Athletic Director

The Athletic Director will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the high school and middle school athletic program, including the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and initiatives to promote the overall success and well-being of student-athletes. This leadership position requires strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, as well as a passion for athletics and the ability to motivate others.

TERM: 9 months

1. Bachelor's degree in education, sports management, or related field.
2. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in education, athletic administration, coaching, or related field, preferably at the high school level.
3. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with parents, coaches, and student athletes.
4. Knowledge of athletic program management, WPIAL/PIAA athletic association rules, and regulations.
5. Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, plan and execute events, and lead and motivate coaching staffs and teams.
6. Valid driver's license and ability to travel as needed for athletic events and conferences.
7. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and occasional travel as required for athletic events and activities.

JOB GOAL: To elevate the athletic program's quality, competitiveness, and integrity through leadership, fostering the pursuit excellence, sportsmanship, and student-athlete development.

1. Program Leadership: Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction for the high school athletic program, setting goals and objectives aligned with the school's mission and values.
2. Athletic Administration: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the athletic department, including budget management, scheduling, facility coordination, equipment procurement, and compliance with regulations and policies.
3. Coach and Staff Supervision: Hire, train, and evaluate head coaches, providing guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities as needed.
4. Student-Athlete Support: Foster a positive and inclusive athletic culture that prioritizes the academic, social, and emotional well-being of student-athletes, promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, and character development and track eligibility lists.
5. Community Engagement: Cultivate positive relationships with parents, alumni, and community members.
6. Event Management: Coordinate and oversee athletic events, competitions, and tournaments, ensuring smooth logistics, compliance, and a positive experience for participants and spectators.
7. Athletic Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable rules, regulations, and guidelines set forth by WPIAL and PIAA governing bodies.
8. Athletic Facilities: Collaborate with school administration and facilities staff to schedule and maintain safe and well-equipped athletic facilities and playing fields.
9. Officials: Responsible for communicating and scheduling qualified officials and security for all athletic events and using Arbiter Pay for prompt payment of officials.
10. Execution of Events: Accountable for coordinating the scheduling of athletics event workers, including ticket sellers, announcers, and security personnel, to ensure the successful execution of all athletic events.
11. Sports Physicals: Responsible for communicating with the athletic trainer and AHN network to schedule seasonal sports physicals.
12. Transportation: Tasked with overseeing transportation logistics for athletic teams, including coordinating buses, vans, or other modes of transportation to ensure timely arrival and departure for competitions and events.
13. Data Analysis and Reporting: Evaluate and report data on athletic program performance and participation rates and other relevant metrics to inform decision-making and continuous improvement efforts.
