Marine Electrician
Marine Electrician, Ansonia, CT (2 positions): Perform diagnosis plus repair of wiring equipment or fixture using hand or power tools; examine electrical system of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, ohmmeters, voltmeters, or oscilloscopes, to confirm compatibility plus safety of system. Perform work using power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools plus testing equipment. Diagnose plus correct faulty systems, apparatus, or parts, using equipment plus hand tools. Analyze plans plus estimates. May oversee technicians or apprentices. 40 hours/week.
Working conditions: some danger of injury or physical harm from construction environments plus moderate degree of discomfort from exposure to year-round weather conditions. Work encompasses physically difficult tasks, like excavation trenches to put passage or moving or lifting serious metal objects.
Must: US work authority, High school diploma or GED plus 2 years electrical experience in a marine capacity; valid driving license.
