Lab Technician
The lab technician performs all the tasks necessary to ensure that all incoming and outgoing materials meet the product specifications. This includes analysis of complex finished products, raw materials and other samples as need be by obtaining physical and unique characterization parameters of samples and organoleptic analysis. The lab technician follows established procedures to ensure products are produced at the required quality. In close consultation with the Quality Control Manager, the lab technician may use his or her experience and knowledge to optimize procedures and solve problems as they arise.
Job Responsibilities
- Analysis of raw materials and finished products
- Verification of products to established specifications
- Analytical testing using refractometry, densitometry, & flashpoint
- Accurate reporting of all results (in and out of specification)
- Verify calibration and/or calibrate equipment.
- Maintaining files (hard copies and electronic)
- Meets work standards by following production, productivity, quality standards.
- Complete and in-depth investigations of any problems or issues that may arise

Required Experience
- BS in Food Science, Chemistry or other science related field
- 1-2 years of experience in the food or flavor industry
- Knowledge of GMP’s and quality systems
