Attorney Position Announcement
The Logan County Attorney's Office in Sterling, Colorado invites qualified candidates to apply for the position of Assistant County Attorney. This is a full-time position that primarily involves representation of the Logan County Department of Human Services in child welfare and child support enforcement matters, but also involves providing legal counsel and assistance to county elected officials and department heads in a variety of matters. Primary work tasks will include meeting with caseworkers, preparing pleadings, motions and briefs, and regular appearances in court on behalf of the Department of Human Services, as well as assisting the County Attorney with legal research and drafting contracts, resolutions and legal opinions. The successful candidate will quickly become proficient in handling dependency and neglect litigation and child support enforcement, and will have strong verbal, legal writing and legal research skills. This is an excellent opportunity for a newly admitted attorney to acquire immediate courtroom experience, working closely with experienced attorneys, initially, but soon gaining the ability to work independently.
Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited law school, admission to the Colorado bar, and student or actual courtroom experience.
Compensation: Starting annual salary for the position is $62,678 to $81,545 depending on qualifications. Logan County has an attractive benefits package, including retirement plan, health, dental, vision and disability insurance, paid holidays, and paid time off.
