Direct Support Professional
Part-time and Full-time
Compensation for a Direct Support Professional ranges from $14.00 - $17.00 per hour
Base Wage for Direct Care: $14.00/hr after the following requirements are met - $13.55/hour starting +$0.25/hour if an approved driver + $0.20/hour once you are trained on medications.
Weekend Shift Differential For Direct Care: $1.00/hour
Overnight Awake Shift Differential: $2.00/hour
Lancer Shift Differential: $3.00/hour for any hours worked in our Lancer Facility doing direct care
As a Direct Support Professional aka DSP you will perform a variety of tasks during the course of your shift including:
- Family Style dining (including your meal)
- Social outings within the community
- Fun activities at home such as games, puzzles, music, crafts, etc..
- Assisting with daily cares including bathing, hair care, oral hygiene, skin and nail care
- Meal preparation which could include grocery shopping or creating lists and menus
- Changing linens and making the bed
- Toileting (can range from simple assistance to full assistance)
- Transferring assist to/from bed, chair, wheel chair or toilet
- Using adaptive equipment lifts, walkers, standers, gait belts, wheel chairs (no use of lifts if you're under the age of 18)
- Medication administration/passing following proper training (no med passing if you're under the age of 18)
- Working with people supported on program goals and daily living skills
- Learning and following people supported care plan
- Documentation of daily cares
- Meal preparation which could include grocery shopping or creating lists and menus
- Housekeeping and laundry

*There will be other duties and responsibilities depending on your shift and specific program you are working in*
To help you complete these task we provide all direct care staff with:
- Positive Behavior Support Training
- CPR and First Aid Training
- Medication Training
- Annual trainings and refresher classes
Requirements:
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
- A desire to work with people with developmental disabilities
- Good Attendance
- You are not required to be a Certified Nursing Assistant CNA but CNAs are welcome
- Cleared as a driver for the agency is preferred
We are hiring for part-time positions, working on average less than 34 hours/week and participating in a weekend and holiday rotation, providing direct care to people with developmental disabilities. Part-time Employees are eligible for Paid-time off after 90 days of employment.
